In Search of a Wild Tonic

In Search of a Wild Tonic

Wild Tonic began as a curiosity about what truly restores us.

Not the kind of restoration that promises quick fixes or self-improvement, but the quieter kind, the kind that unfolds when we slow down enough to listen. The kind that comes from being in cold water, or walking the shoreline with no destination, or losing track of time while making something simply for the pleasure of it.

In a world that moves quickly and asks a lot, this space is an invitation to pause. To soften. To explore what it feels like to be present - in our bodies, our creativity, and the natural world that holds us. Wild Tonic is a place to step out of constant doing and into a way of being that feels more connected, more attuned, and more alive.

Here, I write about creative play, seasonal living, time spent by the sea, cold water immersion, and the small wild practices that help us come back to ourselves. The reflections shared here are shaped by coastal walks and shifting tides, by beachcombing and gathering small found treasures, by making things with my hands and paying attention to the rhythms that move through both nature and our inner lives.

Wild Tonic isn’t about doing more or becoming better. It’s about noticing. About allowing creativity to be messy, intuitive, and joyful.

About honouring the seasons - both around us and within us - and recognising that rest, change, and growth all have their place. It’s about finding balance through connection, curiosity, and moments of wildness woven gently into everyday life.

There is no single definition of a wild tonic. It might be cold water, or creative play, or time spent outdoors noticing what’s already there. My hope is that this space becomes a place of resonance - a reminder that restoration is personal, cyclical, and often found in the simplest of wild moments.

If you’re drawn to living a little slower, listening a little deeper, and finding your own wild tonic along the way, you’re very welcome here.
